OK the Nano frame is a type of body brace.
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:48 PM edit delete reply

yep it appears so :D
cattservant 20th Mar 2014, 9:03 PM edit delete reply

Ms Maxia gets right to the point.
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:48 PM edit delete reply

She does.. but not rudely :D
Stormwind13 21st Mar 2014, 1:39 PM edit delete reply

Definitely not rudely, but Irene doesn't seem to be a politician. She gets RIGHT to the matter at hand. :-)
plymayer 20th Mar 2014, 10:08 PM edit delete reply

Decimus was none to happy.
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:49 PM edit delete reply

no .. no he isnt ...:D
mjkj 20th Mar 2014, 10:35 PM edit delete reply

Nothing beats a nice introduction by friends...

So, is Lynn's thought comment a hint from our benevolent authors that Irene is wearing the brace not for health issues? If so, then I have to agree with the opinions that she originally might be from Luna.

...and the cold received a warm welcome :p

Stormwind13 21st Mar 2014, 2:58 AM edit delete reply

Acantha really likes Lynn. You only EMBARRASS someone like that when you like them a lot. Friends indeed! :-D
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:51 PM edit delete reply

Oh yes the friendship is being forged, and yes Acantha harrasses "playfully" all her friends .. note the diffrence she talks to Lynn even when teaseing and how she talks to her brother.. :D
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:49 PM edit delete reply

The reasons for the Luna Frame will be revealed :D trust me :D
mjkj 22nd Mar 2014, 2:58 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, I trust you will reveal that eventually.

I see only two possibilities for why she would wear it:
1. She is from Luna - needing the brace for the higher gravity
2. She has a sickness that affects her muscles (e.g. like Mecha Maid from Spinnerette) or her bones

Rashala 23rd Mar 2014, 1:19 PM edit delete reply

I am guessing Number 2 though a neurological issue that effects limbs mobility but not finger control

Or she could be like the bartender from Durrarara (spelling I now) who's Muscles have no Safety control and the frame is there to keep her from accidentally moving too fast or strong and well instead of hugging Acantha Crushign her like a tueb of toothpaste
Centcomm 23rd Mar 2014, 3:23 PM edit delete reply

Ill say this much - Irene is no stronger than a human of her size and build :D
Centcomm 23rd Mar 2014, 3:23 PM edit delete reply

Yes I will :D all questions will be answred :D
Rashala 20th Mar 2014, 11:45 PM edit delete reply

Yeah Lynn deserves a CAKE for what she did to DEci.

*had she castrated him I would nominate her for the nobel PEACe prize and Sainthood
Sleel 21st Mar 2014, 2:06 AM edit delete reply

Nah. If you are gonna nominate her for a prize, make it a real one. Not that worthless POS the Nobel Peace Prize has become. It's become nothing but meaningless trash since they awarded to Arafat.
Dragonrider 21st Mar 2014, 8:09 AM edit delete reply

Nominate Hell, Award her a squad of Reevers send her back to the Palace and let her clean house.
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:51 PM edit delete reply

A medal for bravery under fire?
Stormwind13 21st Mar 2014, 1:46 PM edit delete reply

The Silver Star maybe? :-D I mean, CentComm is a military system and Lynn is in charge of it (or will be someday). :-D
Centcomm 23rd Mar 2014, 3:24 PM edit delete reply

Well Lynn isnt a member of Mil-Sec :D but I think theres a Civilian Medal.. :D
Sheela 21st Mar 2014, 12:45 AM edit delete reply

Nice introduction there. :D
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:51 PM edit delete reply

Glad you like it :D
VanEzzania 21st Mar 2014, 6:39 AM edit delete reply

I'm still not over Lynn's cold speech xD
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:52 PM edit delete reply

Rose did a excellent job with that :D
KarToon12 21st Mar 2014, 8:11 AM edit delete reply

Actually, thinking about it, if she's never gotten a cold before, then it COULD be serious if her body's not used to germs. She could have a really weak immune system.
velvetsanity 21st Mar 2014, 10:16 AM edit delete reply

Can you say "pneumonia"? :\
Centcomm 21st Mar 2014, 12:54 PM edit delete reply

As velvet commented Lynn could get REALLY sick if shes not careful. its the same as going anywhere out of your comfort zone. Lynn was suppose to take a Bio-shield shot when she got to Sparta. but she didnt think about it. annnd well she never got the chance after Gavin shot her down.
Tokyo Rose 23rd Mar 2014, 2:59 PM edit delete reply

New Troy's not really a sealed germ-free environment, and definitely not a futuristic bastion of the profoundly stupid anti-vaccination movement. NT citizens are on excellent inoculation programs for a wide range of communicable diseases, but that's not quite the same as being regularly exposed to them in the wild. The main concern for Lynn is the same as it would be for any traveler--strains of microbes originating from outside the usual menagerie that her body knows how to handle.

I swear to you all right here and now that no, we will not gleefully illustrate Lynn suffering from Future-Montezuma's-Revenge, shrieking as she rectally births an army of vengeful Aztec warrior-shits.
Centcomm 23rd Mar 2014, 3:25 PM edit delete reply

No.. no we wont.. *shivers* Poor Lynn :D
XRzer04 21st Mar 2014, 4:09 PM edit delete reply
So, have microwave ovens not changed At All in the future, or is that suspiciously 20th century-looking white box in the background of the last panel actually some sort of matter-replicator or other futuristic-type device?
highlander55 21st Mar 2014, 5:54 PM edit delete reply

I was wondering if her Levi's are 900 years old too!
And if she is unable to remove the Luna Frame not being able to shower she must get pretty ripe.
cattservant 21st Mar 2014, 8:12 PM edit delete reply

A little dab of scythe lizard musk will cure that.
Sheela 21st Mar 2014, 8:36 PM edit delete reply

It could be a 20th century retro oven !
cattservant 21st Mar 2014, 8:43 PM edit delete reply

If things ain't broke in the future they don't fix 'em!
Sheela 22nd Mar 2014, 4:27 AM edit delete reply

And if they are broken ... they still don't fix 'em. XD
Centcomm 22nd Mar 2014, 10:07 AM edit delete reply

Centcomm 22nd Mar 2014, 10:07 AM edit delete reply

she can remove the frame with assitance. and yes she can bathe . shower ect :D
mjkj 22nd Mar 2014, 3:06 PM edit delete reply

Oh, so she needs the brace...

You really spoil us with information, CentComm... :p
Centcomm 22nd Mar 2014, 10:04 AM edit delete reply

somethings never change - yes its a standard microwave :D
mjkj 22nd Mar 2014, 3:08 PM edit delete reply

So it is not a cloth-cleaner like in The Girl from Tomorrow?

Dragonrider 21st Mar 2014, 6:22 PM edit delete reply

CF been wonky on edits for the past 3 or 4 days.
Centcomm 22nd Mar 2014, 10:07 AM edit delete reply

it has :D
Draginbeard 21st Mar 2014, 7:28 PM edit delete reply

Really like the set for this one, the shading and tile especially.
Centcomm 22nd Mar 2014, 10:08 AM edit delete reply

the tile came out very very well I think and the set was a pain to build due to all the fiddly bits in it :D
cattservant 22nd Mar 2014, 10:23 AM edit delete reply

Not to mention the plate of cookies!
Stormwind13 22nd Mar 2014, 4:40 PM edit delete reply

I'm kind of curious what is in the other bowl, Cat. Malus domestica doesn't grow cleanly in the world of Data Chasers, after all. :-D I wonder if that is Pyrus communis in the bowl too? Or what exactly it is, if that won't grow 'cleanly' in the environment. :-D
Tokyo Rose 23rd Mar 2014, 3:11 PM edit delete reply

Many fruit-bearing and other food plants do still grow. The ones that are cultivated are usually pretty heavily hybridized/gene-tweaked to make them disease-resistant, as well as keeping them from, oh, absorbing twelve Fukushimas' worth of radiation from the environment and passing the savings along to you. Most of them are altered to prevent any environmental toxins from getting into the edible produce, so the average pear tree or potato plant isn't a very close relation to our modern versions.

Similar to the present day, however, the ones that aren't cultivated and grow in the wild may not be so friendly. A lot of non-cultivated plants either just don't taste very good or will outright do you harm--it's part of their natural defenses against being eaten by animals or insects. I never met an apple tree that I would trust NOT to suck up as much environmental radiation as possible specifically to make me shit a rainbow of fallout. Apple trees are dicks.
cattservant 23rd Mar 2014, 5:58 PM edit delete reply

Some time you could explain what TeeDee meant about feral roses, perhaps?

[I often imagine that they have a symbiotic relationship with the scythe lizards.]
Tokyo Rose 24th Mar 2014, 2:05 AM edit delete reply

One-word kickass answer:

cattservant 24th Mar 2014, 3:31 AM edit delete reply

That would do it!
Stormwind13 22nd Mar 2014, 1:20 PM edit delete reply

Fiddly bits? I don't see ONE fiddle in the picture!!! I've LOOKED... Where are they? :-D

I mean about everything ELSE is in the picture, including a kitchen sink (I think hiding in frame 3)! :-D

(It looks really nice, CentComm. Though a LOT cleaner than any kitchen/dining area I've had anything to do with. :-D)
cattservant 23rd Mar 2014, 6:04 PM edit delete reply

I imagine Ms Maxia has kitchen staff.
Steven-Vincent 7th Dec 2015, 3:30 PM edit delete reply

Awesome job with the cold dialogue. She sounds just like I do when I'm all stuffed up.
